Mackenzie Smith Kelley is an editorial and commercial lifestyle photographer focusing on the food and stories that sustain us. Her work has appeared in Texas Monthly, Bon Appetit, Food & Wine, Tribeza, Austin Monthly and NYT Magazine.

Mackenzie is originally from Odessa, TX, though she lived in NYC for 10 years before moving to Austin in 2016. While in NY, she worked as a freelance photographer and the director of development for Short Stack Editions, a small-format cookbook publishing company based in Brooklyn. In 2018, she photographed Priya and Ritu Krishna’s Indian-ish, while pregnant with her first (and only) child, Maya June.
Mack is also the co-founder of The World in a Pocket, an online project dedicated to better understanding the world through the lens of a dumpling — or a samosa, empanada, crepe; we believe that every place has a pocket food and we are here to celebrate all of them through recipes, photos and stories shout the people who make them.
